 Japanese school’s have longer hours then schools in North America.  Their school days usually end around 3:30. After class, groups of people each week have to clean the school. They also have one extra day of school a week.  They also stay after school to do more academics or cultural/sports clubs.  Elementary school is grade 1-6, middle school is 7-9, and high school is

 Uniforms are often mandatory in the schools. During PE everyone wears the same uniform.  They are not allowed to wear jewelry, hats, and they can’t dye their hair.  The classes are divided into rankings depending on grades. Ex.(1-A) (1-B) (1-C)  There are people in a classroom, teachers switch classes not students.

 Sports festivals take place in the summer, every kid has to participate in at least one event.  They divide into two teams, red and white.  They compete in all different kinds of sport events.

 Soccer, judo, kendo, track, volleyball, baseball, rugby, swimming, tennis.  They are all main sports in a Japanese school.  Every student usually signs up for the same sport every year.

 Some school clubs are rhythmical gymnastics, table tennis, kendo, art club, computer club, and broadcasting club.

 Japanese schools have all the same subjects as us, except they learn English instead of French/Japanese.

 They use chalkboards instead of whiteboards.  Classrooms are much bigger and there is more desks.  No computers.  Very plain

 The kids have to wear the same uniform in gym.  There are no bleachers in their gym.
