The Scientific Method Scientists us the scientific method to discover new knowledge and establish principles that help us make good decisions and solve problems.

Health and Medical Science In 1900, the life expectance in the United States was 47 years. Current life expectancy has reached nearly 80 years.

Science in Action: Warm – up and Cool Down 1. The warm – up prepares you physiologically for exercise (heats body and raises heart rate). 2. The workout is the part where you work on a component of your fitness. 3. The cool – down helps you recover from your work out.

Three types of Warm - up 1. A general warm – up includes walking, jogging, and calisthenics. 2. A dynamic worm – up includes skipping, jumping, calisthenics, and sport – related movements. 3. A stretching warm – up involves a series of stretches after you have performed a dynamic warm – up. Stretches are held for 15 to 30 seconds.
