Mobile phones are a very popular piece of technology and its main use is to contact people either through ringing people up or texting. Some mobiles have games on as well and the internet including websites such as facebook and msn. On mobile phones there can be problems such as cyber bullying, mainly through texting. On mobile phones you can take photos and record videos then upload them onto the internet. Chloe Hutton

Facebook is a social networking site aimed at people of all ages but teenagers show a particular interest in it. On facebook it has many advantages such as been able to keep in contact with anyone who you might not see regularly and it’s a good way to talk to your friends and family. You can add videos and photos onto Facebook which is fantastic to entertain your friends and family. A disadvantage of facebook is that strangers can add you and if you don’t set your privacy settings they can contact you any time so this may be dangerous. Arguments between people can easily start on facebook if there is nasty comments or messages been posted onto the website. You don’t always know who you are talking to on Facebook because it could be a fake account. Chloe Hutton

Twitter is also a social networking site similar to Facebook but it has a few differences. You can follow people and make blogs. You can follow celebrities on twitter and find out what people are up to which makes it more unsafe than facebook because on facebook you can only talk to your friends, on twitter you can talk to anyone, it may not even be who you think it is who you are talking to. Although twitter is easy to use, the server can overload easily and anyone can follow you which means strangers can. Chloe Hutton

You Tube is a website where you can make your own account and upload your own videos. You can be friends with people on You Tube and then comment on their videos as well as people you don’t know and your own videos. A disadvantage is people may hack your account and also make nasty comments on your videos. Chloe Hutton

Google maps is a website that is maps of the world, you can search up an address and then see a street view. You can see what places look like and it may help you to locate somewhere if you are not sure where you are going. Google maps can be a disadvantage because not all people are going to want their houses on the internet for anyone to see. Chloe Hutton

IPods are a popular piece of technology, there are different types of iPods, and there is a shuffle, iPod Touch, iPod classic and iPod nano. On an iPod shuffle it is quite simple, it is just like a small mp3 player and it doesn’t have a screen, it just plays songs. On an iPod nano, it has a screen; you can record videos and watch music videos as well as listen to music. You can add pictures to this iPod as well; this is very similar to an iPod classic except the nano is smaller. IPod touch is similar to a mobile phone except you can’t ring or text people; you can do pretty much everything else though like take photos, go on facebook, msn, YouTube and other websites so there are some disadvantages of an iPod touch. People can talk to you on the internet and arguments and bullying between people can start. Another disadvantage is that depending on what memory you have on your iPod, they can cost a lot of money, it would be a shame if you had spent all that money on a iPod if something went wrong on it or if you lost it. Chloe Hutton

Msn is a social site where you can talk to your friends and family at anytime anywhere in the world, so it is great for keeping in contact with friends and relatives that don’t live nearby. msn is quite safe because you have to add a persons address and they need to accept to talk to you. If someone adds you and you don’t know them then you can easily decline them. Some disadvantages of msn are: It is quite easy for someone to hack your account Chloe Hutton
