Abstract : The Big Ol’ Animal Roaster or (BOAR) is an automated hog roaster that uses liquid propane to fuel an oven which is monitored via thermal sensors and a micro controller. The data received by this micro controller will be relayed to a wireless device similar to a key-fob or cell phone allowing the user to know that is going on within the roaster without manually checking it. The Block diagram below is the most up to date plan of action for interfacing between the roaster and the micro controller.

Abstract continued:

PSSC’s An ability measure internal temperature of two separate points in the meat and the temperature inside the roaster using RTD sensors. An ability to control the temperature inside the cooker by modifying gas flow using PWM signal to operate a current controlled gas valve. An ability store and load cooking profiles from memory. An ability to automatically ignite and detect whether a flame is present. An ability to wirelessly communicate temperature information to a remote display device.
