Wisdom Godly wisdom can enable a person to hit the mark more often than not, thus positioning oneself for security and positive accrual in the future. God has given us His commandments, precepts, and principles to show us how we are to live a life of wisdom, but the choice is ultimately up to the individual.

Wisdom The choice is ultimately our children’s. You can parent your children, you can shelter them, and you can set boundaries for them while they are young, but eventually you will see that you cannot choose life’s decisions for your children.

Wisdom vs. Information Those who seek wisdom will find it through knowing God and understanding His ways. “The fear of the L ORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” (Proverbs 9:10).

Wisdom vs. Information Ultimately, wisdom is the God- given ability to perceive the true nature of a thing and then implement the will of God concerning it. It is that special viewpoint that allows a person to intuit what is truly going on and then apply God’s direction regarding that insight. Wisdom is spiritual truth applied to life’s realities.

Wisdom vs. Information Wisdom enables a person to clearly decipher what is going on, and then do the right thing with that information. But in order to perceive the true nature of a thing, you first have to know what’s true. For wisdom to be birthed, knowledge must be married to understanding (Proverbs 9:10).

The Voice of Wisdom Shouts in public – Proverbs 1:20 Cries out through nature – Psalm 104:24 Speaks through our conscience – II Corinthians 1:12 Expresses through reason – James 3:17 Is thematic throughout scripture – referred to over 200 times in the Bible 6. Is necessary for life – Proverbs 4:7,8 Proverbs 1:20 - Wisdom cries aloud in the street,in the markets she raises her voice; Psalm 104:24 - O Lord, how many are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all II Corinthians 1:12 - For our proud confidence is this:the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and godly sincerity, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you. James 3:17 - But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy Proverbs 4:7,8 - The beginning of wisdom is: Acquire wisdom; And with all your acquiring, get understanding. “ Prize her, and she will exalt you; She will honor you if you embrace her

Wisdom's Description A wise person listens. Proverbs 1:5 A wise person willingly receives correction.Proverbs 9:9 A wise person is not quick to argue and thinks before he speaks. Proverbs 29:11 A wise person obeys laws and fellowships with others who do. Proverbs 28:7 (KJV) Proverbs 1:5 - A wise man will hear and increase in learning, And a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel. Proverbs 9:9 - Give instruction to a wise man and he will be still wiser, Teach a righteous man and he will increase his learning Proverbs 29:11 - A fool always loses his temper, But a wise man holds it back Proverbs 28:7 - Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father (KJV)

Wisdom's Description 5. A wise child listens to and obeys his parents. Proverbs 13:1 6. A wise person is constantly seeking to learn more. Proverbs 10:14 7. A wise person desires to win others to Christ Proverbs 11:30 Proverbs 13:1 - A wise son accepts his father’s discipline, But a scoffer does not listen to rebuke Proverbs 10:14 - Wise men store up knowledge, But with the mouth of the foolish, ruin is at hand Proverbs 11:30 - The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who is wise wins souls

Wisdom's Source The Lord gives wisdom – Proverbs 2:6 We must ask for wisdom – James 1:5,6 We must seek wisdom – Proverbs 4:5-7 We must develop wisdom – James 3:13 Proverbs 2:6 - For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding James 1:5,6 - But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. Proverbs 4:5-7 - Acquire wisdom! Acquire understanding! Do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth. “Do not forsake her, and she will guard you; Love her, and she will watch over you. “ The beginning of wisdom is: Acquire wisdom; And with all your acquiring, get understanding. James 3:13 - Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.

The Benefits of Wisdom Wisdom is a byproduct of knowing God. When you know God, you have a less problematic life, and you are victorious when problems come. Wisdom provides the tools to face disappointment in light of the wisdom of God’s Word, which tells us He is sovereign and has a plan and destiny for each of us.

The Benefits of Wisdom The benefit of wisdom is not that you won’t have any problems. The benefit is that your problems will not have you. By learning to acquire and apply wisdom, your children will have the opportunity to make the most of their lives. They can be productive and fruitful.

The Benefits of Wisdom Godly wisdom and worldly wisdom originate from vastly different, mutually exclusive sources. Everyone has two choices on where to get wisdom— from above or from below.

The Benefits of Wisdom When you give your child the gift of cultivating godly wisdom, you won’t have to surround them with so many rules, because they will know how to make wise choices in the real world.

The Benefits of Wisdom One helpful way to train your children in the virtue of wisdom is to get them into the habit of attaching a spiritual principle to their choices and decisions. For example the Bible is full of wisdom on relationships (Psalm 1:1–3; Proverbs 1:16; 4:14; 6:24; 24:1; 17:17; 27:6)
