 RON CLARK IMPLEMENTED A GROUP OF 55 ESSENTIAL RULES FOR A SUCCESSFUL CLASSROOM.  HERE ARE SOME OF THE IDEAS THAT HE SAYS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR STUDENTS TO LEARN: 1. MAKE EYE CONTACT 2. RESPECT OTHERS 3. SAY THANK YOU WITHIN 3 SEC.

4.DO YOU HOMEWORK EVERY NIGHT 5.BE THE BEST PERSON YOU CAN BE 6.ALWAYS BE HONEST 7.PERFORM ACTS OF KINDNESS 8.STAND UP FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE 9.WHEN YOU WIN DON’T BRAG 10.LEARN ALL THE NAMES OF YOUR TEACHERS AND GREET THEM.

 2000 OUTSTANDING TEACHER OF THE YEAR  HE HAD A DEEP SENSE OF LOVE AND CONNECTION FOR HIS STUDENTS.  NEVER WANTED TO TEACH  STARTED TEACHING 5 TH GRADE IN NORTH CAROLINA LIKE MAGIC AND FELL IN LOVE WITH TEACHING.  AFTER 5 YEARS WENT TO A SCHOOL IN HARLEM.

 SUCCESS IS LETTING KIDS KNOW YOU CARE ABOUT THEM AND THAT YOUR ARE INTERESTED IN THEIR SUCCESS.  HE MODEL THE BEHAVIOR HE WANTED STUDENTS TO USE.  BEING SINCERE –I MEAN WHAT I SAY.

1. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE RON CLARK’S ESSENTIAL 55? 2. WHY WAS HE SO SUCCESSFUL? 3. WHY DID HE THINK EVERY STUDENT COULD BE SUCCESSFUL? 4. WHERE DID HE BGIN HIS TEACHING CAREER, AND WHY DID HE LEAVE? 5. LIST SOME PROBLEMS THAT HE HAD AT HIS NEW PLACEMENT. 6. WHO WAS HIS MOST DIFFICULT STUDENT? 7. HOW DID HE MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIFE OF THAT STUDENT?

8.WHAT ARE SOME THE STRATEGIES HE USED IN THE CLASSROOM? 9.DID HE EVER GIVE UP AND WANT TO QUIT? 10.HOW DID THE CLASS FIRST RESPOND TO HIS CLASSROOM STRUCTURE? THEN HOW DID THEY RESPOND IN THE END? 11.DID HE HAVE RULES FOR THE PARENTS? WHAT ARE SOME OF THEM? 12.HOW DID HE GET THE COMMUNITY INVOLVED? 13.WHAT KIND OF PUNISHMENTS AND REWARDS DID RON USE IN HIS CLASSES? 14.WHAT DID 4 CHECKS MEAN IN THE CLASSROOM?
