Customer Relations The primary mission is to feed the customer, however it encompasses much more Customer Service should be one of the primary goals in addition to simply preparing the necessary rations Food = Morale for all branches of the Armed Forces Providing that morale is the mission behind good Customer Relations and Service Customer Service is EVERYTHING! Not just the environment or your personal interaction with the customer, but the food, the ambiance, EVERYTHING!

Methods of Customer Service Quality Food  Good chow is paramount! No one cares if you said good morning if they hate the food Attractive Presentation  Presentation of that amazing food is also key. People eat with their eyes! Attractive food and presentation of yourselves and your galley will put a patron in a good mood before ever sitting down. Comfortable, Welcoming Environment  Supplementing that, they way your Cashier, MDMMA and Servers greet and interact with a customer will strongly affect their opinion of their dining experience

Methods of Customer Service Cleanliness  The general cleanliness of your galley affects all patrons opinions, guarunteed. Keep the serving line clean and organized, clean messes on the decks as soon as they appear Sanitation  Sanitary working habits strongly affect people’s perception of your establishment. Wash your hands, shave, don’t touch food with your hands, etc. Presentation of Yourself  Show them you care! Maintain a clean, pressed uniform, clean shave, shined boots, haircut; proper attire!

Feedback FSO Comment Cards  A great tool for the chain of command to monitor and react to customer service issues Menu Review Boards  A collective forum for your customers to express their opinions of the job you are doing Menu Production Boards  A chance for the CS’s to evaluate themselves! Find the problem areas and react before it affects customer opinions Talking With Patrons!  Take the time when walking your mess decks to ask patrons how they are doing, how YOU are doing, and how their food is

Elevating Your Game There is always an above & beyond:  Garnish Work  Lighting  Pictures  TVs  Attractive Décor  Menu Marquee  Special Meals (Customer Appreciation Meal!)  Extras (Ice Cream, Candy Bars, etc. – on occasion!)

Summary Customer Service is what you do, you serve them food, but you also serve them morale. Take it seriously, and take pride in what you do, which is affect tremendously the mood of every Sailor you serve Go above and beyond! (THINK NEY!!!)
