The Bio of …Erik Dickson Erik Dickson is a graduate of Brock University in St. Catharines, who started his work in the concert promotion business in 2011 as a volunteer graphic designer for one of the city's newest promoters. Five years later and with Erik at the helm, that company is the premiere concert promotions company in the Niagara Region with over 400 events under it's belt. Or facebook – If you don’t know them, reach out say hello… offer tickets to one of your shows … etc – Ask about upcoming shows and venues they use … Do you have the right venue for them? Also look into… – Venues What other venues are putting on shows? What other venues are an option for you to use? On / Off Campus ? Examples.. – Potential partners Clubs ( consignment on ticket sales, % back on # tickets sold) Local Music shops Another College or University Students’ Union If you don’t know if there are other promoters in your city at this moment, go find out asap!

Show Logistics/Responsibilities (Pre & post) PRE-Show Set responsibilities – Contracts – Venue layout/logistics Advancing the show Load in/out times – Staffing schedule – Tech / Lighting Sound Checks Start time – Tech / Riders ( Indoor / Isaac’s) Important to make sure all parties are communicating (ie. Inhouse sound tech/ purchaser sound tech, TM ) Liqour Lisence Merch area – Security/Labour ( Isaac’s ) $$$ for Student jobs Bar sales All ages/19+ events ( increase in security ) – Ticket Sales ( IndoorShoes) price / release date Locations / on the line / door – Walk through venue, Clean up and Load out Post-Show Settling up -Finances -Discuss Issues; additional comments or recommendations to make next show better -Talk about pros and cons -What could be done differently? -What was the perceived demographic? -19> vs 19< -Does anyone keep track? -Bar Sales -Security Issues
