Overview of Framework for Tools to Archive and Analyze Real Time Grid Data Carlos Martinez January 27-29, 2004 Washington, D.C. Transmission Reliability Research Review

Goals Vision/Goal: Define and report the framework and constraints to be addressed in developing tools to archive and analyze real-time grid data. The value of such a system would be better utilization of available data to improve reliability management, market monitoring and, ultimately, improved market efficiency. Key Issues being addressed:  Real time monitoring applications data requirements will be reviewed  Framework for data and information archiving systems will be researched to lay a foundation for effective and systematic data and information management for real-time monitoring of power systems  Data quality requirements will be identified and processes to improve data quality will be identified and reported.

Timeframes January 2003 March 2003 Scope of Real Time Monitoring Tools to Address Defined May 2003 Data Requirements Identified June 2003 Data Quality Needs and Data Quality Improvement Process Incorporate in Project August 2003 Project Started July 2003 First Draft of Integrated Report Completed Final Report Completed
