Oltenia

Oltenia is a historical province and geographical region of Romania. It is situated between Danube, the Southern Carpathians and the Olt river. Oltenia entirely includes the counties: Gorj Dolj Mehedinţi Vâlcea Olt Teleorman.

In Oltenia there are very sociable people. We have specific food,like ‘’plum cake’’ or ‘’leek and cheese tart’’. We also have our traditional suits,our traditional music,our traditional houses style.

Niculina Stoican is a Romanian singer of traditional music who’s actually the most important traditional singer in Mehedinti county.
