DATA COLLECTION AND ACTIVITY ANALYSIS

Games analysis - In games analysis, the main purpose of viewing a game or performance is to determine how the performance might be improved. - This can be achieved by coach’s immediate intervention or by the application of specific training drills and programs once the game or performance data has been analysed.

Data collection methods Observation Observation and statistics Heart rate monitoring Filming GPS Eye in the sky Write a short definition and summarise the advantages and disadvantages of each of the above methods. Please summarise, do not just copy from the text book.

Data collection To best understand the sports requirements, you should collect data that will enable you to analyse; - Movement patterns - Skill frequencies - Playing intensities(including work to rest ratios) - Key muscle groups

Movement patterns What can we learn from analysing movement patterns?

Skill frequencies What can we learn from analysing skill frequencies? How would this effect our training programs?

Skill frequencies and key muscle groups What is the relationship between analysing skill frequency, recognising key muscle groups and training programs?
