What about PANIC?

Stress Response: Differences Between Animals and Humans n Animals accept the physical symptoms of the stress response as a prompt to act

We run into trouble when we THINK without acting n Where imminent physical danger is scarce, we question our physical responses to stress n In the absence of action, we have the time to think “I feel anxious” n Anxious or panic thoughts are the brain’s way of making sense of the physical arousal n But—scary thoughts can also trigger the physical symptoms

Physical sensations and panic n Watching and scanning your body for physical sensations n Increased sensitivity to normal changes in your body n Tending to breath a little to fast as a habit n Stimulants and activities that increase sensations or awareness of them

PhysicalThoughtFeeling

Don’t believe everything you think.

Summary n Stress is unavoidable n Management our physical and mental reactions to stress can reduce the impact of stressors and CVS
