AP ENGLISH LANG. TEST Things to remember

Get a Good Night’s Sleep.

Eat a Good Breakfast. Protein not sugar. No Monster Drinks that cause you to crash two hours later.

Get Your Walk On. Park as far away as possible so your brain will be ready to test. Or if you have time, do a lap at the track or inside the school before you go to the testing room. Remember that your brain activity matches your physical activity-- Don’t test on a dormant brain!

Report to Testing Site. You will be seated in alphabetical order. Able-Pursley—Gym 2 Quintana-Zamora—Omni Room

Don’t Be Late.. The test starts promptly at 7:30. If it has started when you get there, you cannot enter the testing room, regardless of the reason. That means be there by 7:00 at the latest.

Be Prepared. Bring several sharpened #2 pencils with erasers. And at least 2 black ball point pens (not the gel or rolling ball type). Make sure they work before the morning of the test.

Just in Case, Bring: A watch in case you can’t see the clock. (No watches with alarms). A hoodie in case it’s freezing. Kleenex, in case your nose runs.

Water is only allowed during the break between the multiple choice and writing section. We’ll provide granola bars, but you can also bring a quick snack. Don’t over do it. You don’t get a bathroom break for 2 1/2 hours

And, Of Course, You Need an ID.

Highlighters and scratch paper are also not allowed.

Remember the Test Structure. Multiple-choice: 60 minutes – 1 minute per question – Answer every question 10 minute break 15 minute reading period 3-40 minute essays - you can write the essays in any order

Don’t Forget! You’ve worked hard. You know what to do. You’ve got this.

“It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer” (Einstein).
