Koala Bears How are they affected? How do we help? By Danielle S. Durkovic Why are Koalas endangered? How are they affected? How do we help? How many are left in the world? How to Learn More And Reply to this Article...

Why are koalas endangered? How are they affected? Koala bears are endangered because in the areas were koala bears live is at high risk. The koalas habitat has been destroyed. Poaching and hunting is prevalent. Since the European settlement, 80% of Australia’s eucalypt forests have been decimated. People like the fertile lands along the eastern seaboard but this is where the koalas have already settled. If you knock down all the koalas habitats they will have no where to go. So you might find them in the wrong place, on the road, in a swimming pool, ect. Koalas will also face dangers such as disorientation. Another problem is a disease that affects the koalas eyes and bladder. These are all causes of dangers that koalas have to face. How do we help? How many are left in the world? Why are koalas endangered? How are they affected? Why are koalas endangered? The dingo, large owl, and Tasmanian wolves are all predators of koalas. If the predators of the koalas keep eating them there will be no one to eat the eucalyptus leaves. This is how koalas are led to extinction. The koalas biggest natural enemy is the humans that hunt them for their soft fur. The European fox is a very dangerous enemy of koalas. Even though koalas have some enemies, koalas do not prey on other animals. Koalas will only eat eucalyptus leaves. How are they affected? How do we help? How many are left in the world? Why are koalas endangered? How do we help? Why are koalas endangered? POWER WORDS! Inform: to give knowledge of fact or circumstance Inspire: to fill with a specific feeling Involve: to engage or affect into action How are they affected? We can help the koalas by not cutting down so many trees for our needs. The Australia Koala Foundation says if we don’t stop ruining the koalas homes the koalas will become extinct. The Australia Koala Foundation also states “ No Tree No Me”. Also if you chop down trees its not only their home but it is also the koalas food source of eucalyptus leaves. So no more trees no more koalas. We can also try to keep our forests clean by not littering many koalas die and get sick just because of our garbage. By doing just one little thing you will save hundreds of koalas. PLEASE HELP THESE POOR LITTLE CREATURES! How do we help? How many are left in the world? Koalas may become extinct with in the next 60 years. More and More koalas die every year leaving one number less. So please help save the koalas before its too late! How do we help?
