Scenario 1 A student would like to add the song “I Believe I Can Fly” by R. Kelly to his slideshow presentation on aviation history. Legal or not legal?

Scenario 1 – Not legal R. Kelly’s hit song was published in According to fair use, only 30 seconds of this song could be used.

Scenario 2 A student would like to add a 20 second clip of “Ice, Ice, Baby” by rapper Vanilla Ice to her multimedia poster on the stages of matter. Legal or not legal?

Scenario 2 - Legal The use of 20 seconds of this song is perfectly ok. In fact, she could have used 30 seconds, but she must also cite the source in her project.

Scenario 3 A teacher would like to add an audio file of “Oh! Susanna” to her class webpage. The song would play in its entirety and loop in the background. Legal or not legal?
