Steps to Achieving your NCAA Eligibility Freshmen & Sophomores Start Planning Now – Learn how to manage you time. Work hard to get the best grades possible. Take classes that match your school’s list of approve core courses. Research colleges that offer a major that will keep you interested while playing college sports. Read the Student Eligibility Handbook

Juniors NCAA - Register at orwww.eligibilitycenter.org NAIA – Register at services/attend.htmhttp://naia.cstv.com/member- services/attend.htm 2 nd Semester – Take your SAT or ACT’s. Have your test scores sent directly from College Board or ACT.org using Eligibility Center code (9999) as a score recipient in addition to the colleges you are interested in. Fee Waivers are available for SAT/ACT. Focus on your grades. The end of the 6 th semester request your transcript be sent to the NCAA or NAIA.

Seniors Take the Sat and or ACT again. The Eligibility Center and the colleges you are interested in will take the highest of the two test scores. Take college prep classes (dual enrollment or AP classes) if you can handle them. Review your Amateurisum responses and request certification on or after April 1 (for fall enrollees Request to have your 8 th semester transcript mailed to NCAA during your senior exit survey.

NCAA Core Courses Division I has a sliding scale for test score and grade-point average (GPA). Students must complete 16 Core Courses. Division II has a minimum SAT score requirement of 820 and an ACT score of 68. Student must complete 14 approved core courses. ( After 8/1/2013 Division II students will be required to complete 16 core courses.) NAIA

NAIA Requirement Meet two of the following three: Achieve a minimum of 18 on the ACT Achieve a minimum of 860 on the SAT Minimum Cumulative unweighted 2.0 GPA

Know your Recruiting Rules NCAA Division I, II and II and NAIA are not the same. Rules vary for each Sport. Rules vary for each high school grade level. Know when you can be contacted by coaches and how they may contact you. Official Campus Visit allowed your Senior Year only.

Scholarships Division I and II schools offer scholarship Division III may not offer scholarships Many Community Colleges offer small athletic scholarship (Read your NCAA Student guide to see if you can accept additional scholarship monies!)

Students responsibility Be a team player Study – your grades are important Register for SAT/ACT Research colleges and universities that not only offer your sport but also offer your program of study
