LIFE ELECTIVE 10

OBJECT LESSON: MILK, OIL AND FLOUR

DIRECTIONS: You will need ¾ cup of milk, 3 tbsp. of cooking oil, food colouring, 1 cup of flour, a mixing bowl and a spoon. Colour the milk with food colouring so that it will contrast with the oil when the oil is added. Add the cooking oil to the milk and ask your child to mix the two ingredients together. The water and oil may appear to mix initially, but will eventually separate again. Explain that the water and oil represent two people who are having a hard time getting along or accepting each other's differences. Give examples that are appropriate to your children's lives. Next, measure out the flour. Explain that the flour represents the Holy Spirit. Have your children mix the flour, water and oil together. When the flour is added, the other two ingredients will no longer separate.

Ephesians 4:2-3 (New International Version) Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. When we allow God's Holy Spirit to fill us, we will find it easier to be humble, gentle and patient with others. The result of God's Spirit living in us is that we will experience more peace in our relationships with others.

MEMORY VERSE ROMANS 15:7 Honor God by accepting each other, as Christ has accepted you.

COMMUNION

LESSON GOAL: I will learn that it is finished LESSON OVERVIEW: Children will understand that the problem of sin has been solved once and for all. All the commandments and demands have already been fulfilled. We walk in good works with God before them. Knowing this, all of them will have the energy to be a friend to those around them.

MEMORY VERSE ROMANS 15:7 Honor God by accepting each other, as Christ has accepted you.

OBJECT LESSON: LETTERS (YOU’VE GOT MAIL!!!)

BIBLE FACTS Did you know that… Written communication was extensively used by the men and women of the bible. These letters or epistles are penned with much love and given to friends to connect with them. One of the main purposes was to spread the Word of God. Examples of these are letters of captivity, letters of Paul, letters to the Philippians, letters to Philemon etc. Please watch thevideo: _TKdw&feature=related

LETTER: WRITTEN COMMUNICATION Have you written a letter? Have you received a letter? Who gave you the letter? How did you feel when you receive it? Did you write back? Do you think that letter writing is important important?

IMPORTANCE OF WRITTEN COMMUNICATION Written communication can change the course of history. Written communication can preserve our memories of the special people in our life. Written communication can prevent misunderstandings. Written communication can help you remember important details.

PARTS OF A FRIENDLY LETTER 1.The Heading. This includes the address, line by line, with the last line being the date. Skip a line after the heading. The heading is indented to the middle of the page. If using preaddressed stationery, add just the date. Example: 9402-B Calantas Street. San Antonio Village, Makati City October 3, 2010

2. The Greeting. The greeting always ends with a comma. The greeting may be formal, beginning with the word "dear" and using the person's given name or relationship, or it may be informal if appropriate. Formal: Dear Teacher Leah, Dear Joseph, Informal: Hi Nicole, Greetings,

3. The body. Also known as the main text. This includes the message you want to write. Normally in a friendly letter, the beginning of paragraphs is indented. If not indented, be sure to skip a space between paragraphs. Skip a line after the greeting and before the close. Example: I heard you broke your arm last night. I was sad upon hearing the news. But then again, I want you to know that I am praying for you and that God loves you.

4. The complimentary close. This short expression is always a few words on a single line. It ends in a comma. It should be indented to the same column as the heading. Skip one to three spaces (two is usual) for the signature line. Example: Truly yours, Respectfully yours,

5. The signature line. Type or print your name. The handwritten signature goes above this line and below the close. The signature line and the handwritten signature are indented to the same column as the close. The signature should be written in blue or black ink. If the letter is quite informal, you may omit the signature line as long as you sign the letter. Example: Teacher Mimay

BIBLE STORY KIDS… SIT DOWN AND LISTEN TO THE STORY

OBJECT LESSON: PEN A pen, small as it may be but when you start to write with it, you can share the power of God to others.

LESSON 1: ENERGY TO BE A FRIEND We can be a friend because God made friends with us first. There is an energy that is in us because we are in Him. 1 John 4:4 Children, you belong to God, and you have defeated these enemies. God's Spirit is in you and is more powerful than the one that is in the world.

ACTIVITY Remember the letter that you have given last week. Your new found friend has already responded. Let put that energy in action and let us write him/her back… Let us answer his or her questions You may tell him or her about what you have learned today You may tell him or her that God is also his/her friend

REMINDERS: Please don’t forget to bring your bibles next week

GAME: BIBLE DRILL Write these 3 short verses in the paper and cut it into a puzzle… Children will have to pass the obstacles to be able top form the verses, once the verses are formed the group must recite the verse completely.

SYNTHESIS: No matter how many obstacles we come across with, if we are bringing the Word of Christ, we will always come out as winners! Everybody is a winner!!!

LESSON 2: MESSAGE TO GIVE TO OTHERS We have learned from last week that even though you are small you have the energy of God in you. This energy must be used to share the Good Message (God’s Word to others) Matthew 28:19 So wherever you go, make disciples of all nations: Baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. LET US START SHARING THE WORD WITH YOUR FRIEND TODAY…

LET US HELP EVERYONE BE REUNITED WITH GOD 2 Corinthians 5:20 Therefore, we are Christ’s representatives, and through us God is calling you. We beg you on behalf of Christ to become reunited with God.
