+ Introductions John Smith- 11 th grade English teacher Sara Bleekman- 7 th grade Science teacher Jenny Owens- Teacher / Parent of a 10 th grader Jeremy Cordes- Teacher/ 8 th grade football coach

+ Thesis As teachers, we believe adding a 7 th grade sports team is a poor decision because it will take the focus away from academics, cause stress, and take significant amounts of our time.

+ Others may say it is healthy for kids, but it mental health is just as important as physical health

+ Others may say it leads to good behavior, but only if a good conduct clause is followed with fidelity
