Presentation transcript:

 Mercury is a planet that has a crust, mantle, and a core.  Do you think its cold here on Earth?  Mercury in the winter is -300 degrees.

 If you think its hot here on Earth in the summer then your wrong.  Mercury is 800 degrees in the summer.  Planet Mercury is a rocky planet and has craters like Earth’s moon.

 A Greek astronomer saw Mercury as 2 stars but he just thought they were stars.  The astronomer woke up early in the morning; he saw the planet on one side of the Sun.

The astronomer figured out about 350 days B.C. that the 2 stars were 1 planet.

 It is so hot there that we would need 100 million or more gallons of water.  We would need a special space suit for blocking the Sun.  We would also need oxygen to breath since there is no air.

 This is the space suit that we would need.

 I chose Mercury because my sister did her project on it when I was little so I thought it would be interesting to learn about it.  This project was very fun and I like researching on something I enjoyed.

 I hope you learned more about Mercury!!!
