Development of High Speed Lines in Poland Sections planned to be ready in year 2015 1/ Grodzisk Mazowiecki – Psary (Central Main Line = Centralna Magistrala Kolejowa) V= 200 km/h for conventional engine with coaches V= 250 km/h for HS rolling stock (multiple units) The length of the section: 170 km,catenary – DC 3 kV 2/ Wrocław – Kalisz V=200-250 or V≥300 km/h (depends on results of the pre-feasibility study) The length of the section: 110 km Catenary – accordingly to results of pre-feasibility study: - for rolling stock for V= 200-250 km/h - DC 3kV - for rolling stock for V≥300 km/h - AC 25kV, 50Hz
Development of High Speed Lines in Poland Sections planned to be built after year 2015 1/ Kalisz – Łódź, Length 110 km 2/ Łódź – Warszawa, Length 130 km 3/ Kalisz – Poznań, Length 140 km 4/ Łódź – Piotrków Trybunalski - CMK Length 80 km 5/ Poznań – German Border Length 170 km Accordingly to results of pre-feasibility study: - if assumed maxV=200-250 – catenary DC 3kV - if assumed maxV≥300 km/h – catenary AC 25kV, 50Hz
Map of the planned system of HS lines in Poland
Some comments Line Grodzisk Mazowiecki – Psary (called CMK) was built in 1970-75 with alignment for 250 km/h, but equipped for HS is in years 1998-2013 Line Warsaw – Gdynia – will be modernized in 2007-2013 for V=160 km/h for conventional trains and for 200 km/h for tilting trains Line Poznań – German Border – which is going to be built as completely new, will need 100% of new land Other lines –for speed of 200-250 or 300 and more km/h will be built as new lines, but using in 30-50% the land of old rail lines
The planned system of HS lines in Poland with the surrounding conventional lines modernized to V=160 km/h (forecast for year 2030)
