Telecom’s Operational Separation Required by the new Telco Act, Telecom to split into three divisions Network access Wholesale Retail “Equivalence of Inputs” on a key range of services. Government gets to decide the details, and which services covered. Submit! March, and probably June, 2007.
New Telco Act The regulator now has new powers: To review and monitor markets To make standard terms offerings available – don’t need to wait for an access seeker to fail commercial negotiations and pay for a determination. Plus a new commissioner is on the way. Watch this space!
