GEF-PAS Issues 20 projects under implementation Implementation issues and project delays Co-ordination issue never completed resolved-Lack of Resources GEF PAS Benefits and Advantages –(i) Mobilized considerable resources and projects to the region, which prior to the programme the region had not received (ii) Improved the overall understanding of the GEF amongst Pacific Countries How do we move forward in GEF 5? Region can build on GEF-PAS. GEF is willing to work with region on expanding GEF- PAS, or a new programme. It is up to region to as to how they want to move forward. Can work together to identify elements of a new programme New Guidelines for Programmatic approaches in GEF 5 which address coordination issue Alternative Regional Approaches in light of broadening GEF Partnership- Possibilities regional organizations can be accredited by GEF, and become GEF Project Agency
