Let’s Hunt For Vowels!!!! By Ciara Carter

Audience -2 nd grade students -Average Students (on-level) -Mid-year -About once or twice a week students will have access to a computer at school to complete a phonics instructional activity

Environment -2 nd grade students will work in partners -Will work at a computer at school (i.e. computer lab or computers in library) -Students will have speakers at each computer

Objective Students will be able to identify long and short vowels and distinguish their different sounds given the long and short vowels and will perform at 100% accuracy rate.

Home You will learn about short and long vowels today! This means click to hear sound! Follow Mr. Rabbit

Directions  Read through the refresher about vowels  Next, learn about each vowel and its different sounds  Then complete the short activity for each vowel  Lastly, take the quiz to check your understanding

Vowels can have a short sound or long sound. We are familiar with both. We just have to distinguish between the different sounds.

Hint! To discover long vowels, remember that long vowels are often paired with another vowel!
