The Slave Trade Slavery existed way before the Europeans came to Africa If enslaved by an African, one could earn freedom 1520 to 1860 - 10 to 12 million Africans enslaved by Europeans Men (18 - 30) were taken, families destroyed

Atlantic Slave Trade In the 1500s, Europeans enslaved Africans to work their farms in the Americas and the Caribbean. After being sold by African kings, slaves were treated as cargo aboard ships.
