Hudson High School Our Philosophy and Program GIRLS’ VARSITY BASKETBALL

TEAM

OUR VISION The Hudson Girls’ Basketball Program’s vision is to foster a spirit of team unity where hard work, dedication, and drive translate from the basketball court to our school, our families, and our community.

OUR PROGRAM Vertical alignment of lower levels through the high school is integral in our vision for this program. Free annual youth clinic/fundraiser Summer skills camps Using the same language/terminology consistently throughout every level Middle school and high school communication

OUR PROGRAM Fundamentals and skills are important for success Conditioning and strength training Open gyms Summer leagues (New Richmond and St. Croix Central)

OUR PHILOSOPHY Academics and family come first Each player’s priorities should be her education and her family The team comes before individuals Success only come with the success of the team Play with class Respect the opposition, the game, and ourselves

OUR PHILOSOPHY Discipline This transfers on and off the court Work Ethic We will be prepared to play Tradition The team is part of something bigger; we work for the future of our program. Things in Our Control Some things are out of our hands, but we can control our attitudes, our effort, and our love of basketball.

MY PERSONAL APPROACH Open communication is what I view as the most effective coaching strategy I use. Be honest with players and parents. Share my expectations upfront. Keep all stakeholders in the loop.

MY PERSONAL APPROACH Recognizing the history of this organization and thinking about the future Seeing our team as part of something bigger Looking forward to the future of the program while not forgetting its history

MY PERSONAL APPROACH Being a part of our community Promoting our team and program Giving back to Hudson Showing leadership within our school
