Wheat & Grain Silos Project May Bethlehem, Palestine 2008

Project Description E stablishing of Wheat and Grain storage solution comprising 6 silos, and to be located in the Southern Gaza Strip. W ith a total capacity of 30,000 tons. T argeting all wheat mills in Gaza. R evenue will be generated by charging rental fees for storage and wheat wholesale trade by buying wheat at harvest time at a low rate to be sold after. Expandable Project Financial Indicators: Capital Investment: USD 6 Millions Contribution by Owner: 25% Return on Investment: 20%

Industry Highlights Daily consumption of White Wheat Flour in Gaza exceeds 400 tons. Around 500 tons of Bulk Wheat produces the needed 400 tons of Wheat Flour. Currently Gaza imports both bulk wheat and ready packed flour mainly from Israel. Bulk wheat prices are lowest at harvest time and highest in winter. The project encourages private investors to build,own and operate infrastructure for bulk handling, storage and transportation of wheat

Opportunities Better utilization of the Wheat and Grains harvest. Climbing international Wheat prices. High local consumption of Wheat and Grain products. 10 local Wheat Mills in Gaza. Government support for strategic projects. Building this project will save millions of Dollars to the Palestinian economy. It will provide the ability for this sector to be active locally.

Strategic Benefits to Palestine P rovide Gaza with main Grains at all times of the year. P rovide the community with local strategic inventory and sustainable supplies of Grains and Wheat. I ncrease the food security standards in terms of quality,quantity and price. R educe the losses from traditional storage methods. Reduce flour mills dependent on Israeli suppliers. Get Palestinian and foreign investors participate in this project will set an example for others to follow in the food processing.
