What is Geography?? The study of the distribution & the interaction of the physical & human features of the earth.

GEOGRAPHY Geography comes from the Greek word “geographia” meaning “to describe the earth”. Geographers look at the use of space on earth and the interactions that take place between people and the land they live on. Geography is the study of both the physical and human features on the earth.

Two Branches of Geography 1.Physical – -look at earth’s natural environment - how earth’s environment was shaped - understand how geography is changing 1.Human - distribution of people & their characteristics - interaction of people with their environment
