Thrust on gradual replacement of regulation by education, and awareness crusades appropriate to multilingual and multi-ethnic nature of the country. Contd/-

Roadmap Provision of alternative and supplementary livelihoods. Promotion of sustainable use. Closer ties with ICRI viz. linking of ICRI sites with the site of Indian Ocean Biogeographic Information System (IndOBIS) being developed by National Institute of Oceanography, and National Chemical Laboratory. IndOBIS provides biodiversity information of all marine habitats; linking of MoEF, NIO sites with ICRI site.
