A powerpoint from Blas Churba And a Siamang

Siamang It’s the largest ape in the givon family and can have an arm span of up to 1.5 m (5 ft). They have black shaggy hair except at their throats, where they have air sacs used to make a loud barking noise

Where you can find them?  mountains of Malaysia and Sumatra. These very acrobatic primates live in southeast Asia.

How do they travel?   Siamangs are tree-dwelling and swing through the trees using their hands as hooks.

Their reproduction  Siamangs’ gestation period is approximately 7.5 months. A single offspring is born every two or three years. Offspring cling to their mother’s belly constantly for the first three to four months. The male may begin to carry an infant at the time of weaning.

Their family “the gibbons”  The siamang  The chinpanze  The gorilla

What they eat  The siamang survives mainly on leaves and fruit, but also eats insects, bird eggs, and small vertebrates
