«Географическое положение США» The USA is one of the English-speaking countries which occupies the middle part of North America and stretches from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean. The United States of America borders on Canada in the North and on Mexico in the South. It also has a sea border with Russia. The continental  part of the USA varies greatly because it is the fourth largest country in the world (after Russia, Canada and China). The Cordilleras are located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Between the Rocky Mountains in the West and the Appalachian Mountains in the  East are the Great Plains, the Central Lowland and the Mississippi Valley. The five Great Lakes, between the USA and Canada, are joined together by short rivers or canals, and the Saint Lawrence River joins them to the Atlantic Ocean. The main river of the country is the Mississippi, which flows into the Gulf of Mexico.
