Greeting: First impressions are important. Remember that as we go into our introductions.

 My name is Diana Ratley  I am 28 years old  I have an Associates Degree in Science and a Bachelors degree in Biology, I just worked on National Boards, Teacher of year Degrees from Peace College  Two kids Gage and Chase  LOVES HER JOB!!!!!

 Follow all Cumberland County Rules and Procedures  Follow all Classroom Rules and Procedures  RESPECT RESPECT RESPECT  Be prepared  Be motivated and willing to work  Positive attitudes

 BE ON TIME  BE PREPARED  BE SEATED AND WORKING BEFORE BELL RINGS  BRING ALL MATERIALS TO CLASS  HAVE YOUR PLANNER  RAISE YOUR HAND  STAY IN YOUR SEAT  RESPECT YOUR ENVIRONMENT

 FIRST OFFENCE : WARNING  SECOND OFFENCE: PARENTAL PHONE CALL  THIRD OFFENCE: D-HALL  FORTH OFFENCE : OFFICE REFERRAL

 If the phone rings or the intercom comes on it is your job to be absolutely quiet.  If not you are breaking a rule of disrespect.  Pay attention to any announcement, very important for your safety as well as mine.

 In case of an emergency whether it is a practice or not.  Students must remain calm and follow teachers instructions.  Stay silent at all times  In a practice situation you will treat it as if it were real. IF not students will minimal have D Hall.

 Wait for teacher to instruct the class to line up.  Students will remain quiet and in a straight line out the building and back in the building.  Students will stay together and proceed to football field.  No horse playing  Automatic D-hall will be given to those who can not behave.

 Students will wait until teacher line the class up.  Students will turn right outside the class and line up by lockers.  Students will sit on their knees with head bent down and arms over head.  Failure to remain quiet due to misbehavior will result in D-hall.

 Students will go to back of classroom and hide away from door.  STUDENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO TALK UNITL ALL CLEAR IS GIVEN  Students who fail to follow resonable request will result in office refferals.

 Emergencies will not happen everyday.  Go to bathroom before you enter classroom.  Tell teacher first if someone is injured or hurt.

 If you are late you must have a note.  You may not stay back in a class and miss Science without prior permission  Students are tardy will have consequences.

 When leaving the classroom students will walk in a straight line without talking or horse playing  Students will be respectful wherever we go.  Student will have consequences for misbehavior

 Warm UP : 10 min  Teacher Instruction: 20 min  Guided Practice: 30 min  Independent Practice: 20 min  Reflection: 10 min

 Mandatory assignments once you enter the classroom.  When the bell rings you have 10 min to complete warm-ups.  Warm Ups count for a daily grade  Not optional  Must complete in a timely manner  Expect to see vocabulary, mathematical calculation, scenarios, review questions from previous lesson  Warm Ups are independent assignment and are done without talking.

Teacher Instruction is lead by the teacher and teacher only  20 min max of teacher instruction  This is a time to take notes.  Pay close attention to teacher while given instruction  Ask question when lost or you do not understand.  Stay quiet so others can focus.  Raise your hand.

 Class hands on activities  Graphing  Measuring  Illustrating  Group work  Partners  Lab Activities: Remember Lab is a privilege not a right.  Be courteous at all times to others in your group.  Stay on task  Use good time management skills  Clean up your area

 IMPORTANT THAT IT IS DONE INDEPENDENTLY  NO COLLABORATION WITH PEERS  COMPLETE ASSIGNMENT AND SUBMIT ON TIME

 THIS COULD INCLUDE A CLASS DISCUSSION ON WHAT WAS LEARNED  EXIT SLIPS  ASSESSMENTS  REFLECTIVE WRITTING

PASSING OUT AND COLLECTING MATERIAL GRADED PAPERS  THE STUDENT AT THE END OF EACH ROW WILL PASS DOWN PAPERS AND COLLECT PAPER S IN THE ROW.  WRITE YOUR NAME AND DATE ON ALL SUBMISSIONS  DO NOT TURN IN ANY WORK WITHOUT FOLLOWING PROCEDUR  ONE STUDENT EACH MONTH WILL TAKE ON THE ROLE OF PASSING OUT GRADED WORK. DO NOT ASK TO PASS OUT WORK A STUDENT WILL BE ASSIGNED. NOT ALL GRADED WORK WILL BE RETURNED.  WORK THAT IS GRADED MUST GO INTO YOUR UNIT FOLDER IN ORDER.

 An agenda will be present on the white board daily.  Do not ask me what we are going to be doing, it will be clearly stated on board  The objective and goal for each lesson will also be present daily on white board.

 30% Classwork  30% Test  20% Labs/ quizzes  10% Homework  10% Warm Ups

 Is done at HOME  Home work is not everyday  Home work is important to do the night given. Do not wait because you have a day before we meet again. Complete while information is fresh.  Homework is posted daily on the white board  Copy homework in planner.  Will not accept late homework unless absent

 Contrary to popular belief class does still go on when your absent.  Yes you will always miss material when your absent.  Labs can not be made up, there will be given additional assignment. However lab questions will be on assessments.  Check absent folder, do not ask what did you miss. The assignment will be there.  You have three days to turn in your work.  I will not ask for your work. You must take on that responsibility.

 Will not be issued individually.  You can check them out anytime you need to.  Sign the text book sign in and out sheet

 All assignments will be numbered and entered into your notebooks.  Notebooks will be brought to class everyday.  Every tenth assignment there will be a notebook check. Counts as a quiz grade.  All test and graded material will be entered into your notebook. This is your book, your study guides for test.  Extremely important to making a passing grade

 Multiple Options:  Old Fashion : Multiple Choice, T/F short answer and essay  Lab Reports  Quizzes  Review Games  Exit Slips  Verbal
