Why Rome with CUA?  Rome is one of the most significant cities for the development of western culture  It is centrally located, with easy travel to the rest of Italy and the rest of Europe  It is the central city of the Catholic Church  There is always something happening in the city: music, culture, food, religion T HE C ATHOLIC U NIVERSITY O F A MERICA Rome Program

Why Why Rome with CUA? CUA’s Rome program is run directly by CUA and staffed with CUA staff who live in Rome The courses are listed in Cardinal Station and count as regular CUA courses All financial aid (except work-study) is applicable T HE C ATHOLIC U NIVERSITY O F A MERICA Rome Program

What is Included in the Program? Modern dormitory facilities, with air-conditioning, wireless internet, a residence assistant, and a 24- hour security guard Partial meal plan: Food vouchers for 60 euro each week (except the semester break) Passes for Rome’s public transportation for the full 16 weeks Two three-day excursions Several group meals An orientation weekend

Study in a Living Textbook

Facilities The CUA Rome campus is located within a beautiful 19th-century building owned by the Vincentians, The Congregation of the Mission, a religious order founded by St. Vincent de Paul. Through a partnership with St. John's University, CUA students benefit from Modern classrooms. High-speed wireless internet. A fully-wired computer lab with printers. A small library for quiet study. Air-conditioned/heated facilities. 24-hour security with key-card access. T HE C ATHOLIC U NIVERSITY O F A MERICA Rome Program

Housing Students who study in Rome will be living in university-provided dormitory rooms. Students have the benefit of modern dormitories provided through CUA's long-standing relationship with St. John's University. The dorms feature double or triple rooms with a desk, wardrobe, and bed for each student, air conditioning/heating, bathrooms along the hallways, and wireless internet access. A CUA Resident Manager lives on your floor. There is a security guard on duty at the entrance at all times. For the spring semester, it is possible to apply to live with Italian host families. Academic Program The courses taught in Rome are designed to help you make the most of your time here. Few will every have the opportunity again of studying in-depth such an important city while enjoying four months living there. You can expect challenging courses, engaging professors, and fascinating subjects. T HE C ATHOLIC U NIVERSITY O F A MERICA Rome Program

Class Trips in Rome While in class, you will visit many of the places, monuments, churches, and museums of Rome that have established their place in history. Your professors will help you understand their meaning and impact. T HE C ATHOLIC U NIVERSITY O F A MERICA Rome Program

Field Trips in Italy Two three-day overnight trips take you out into the Italian peninsula to learn about the importance of these other Italian cities, such as Siena, Assisi, Naples, and Sorrento. T HE C ATHOLIC U NIVERSITY O F A MERICA Rome Program

Cultural Events We organize many optional events throughout the semester so that you can make the most of the rich culture of Rome and Italy. Spiritual Events Rome has never-ending opportunities to deepen your faith. Participation in a General Papal Audience is included in the program. We also help you get tickets to papal Masses.
