Reflection Kyle is in gifted art program and he brought a unique viewpoint to this this project. He connected strongly with this artwork and its content. The emotional impact that the work had on him is evident in his podcast.

Project Components Lecture by Leona Tate, one of the McDonogh 3 Field trip to historic civil rights sites in New Orleans Creation of collages by students based on their chosen artwork Creation of Historypin.com tour of the sites students visited Creation of podcast using Voicethread

Impact Seeing students enthusiastic, as well as their fantastic results reinforced our belief in the importance of having arts as an integral part of the curriculum. The project fostered a sense of community among the students by allowing them to see their commonality, rather than their differences.
