3 Modules of 2.5 hour sessions Materials: Course Manual & Support Wiki 1.Using ICT mathematics software to teach Number & Algebra (Strands 3 and 4)–Discussion Exercise - Participants sharing resources on wiki. 2.Using ICT mathematics software to teach Number, Algebra and Functions (Strands 3, 4 and 5) – Discussion Exercise - Participants sharing resources on wiki 3.Using ICT mathematics software to teach Functions (Strand 5) – Discussion Exercise - Participants sharing resources on wiki NB: Course evaluation at end of course Course Overview

Participant pre-requisites Participants should have undertaken the first ICT & Maths Course or have a good knowledge of GeoGebra software.ICT & Maths Course Participants should also have basic ICT skills, understand how to download software and have some experience of using the Internet. Participants should Request Access to the wiki during Module 1 and login before attending Module 2.

ICT and Maths – Part 1 Module 1 Using ICT mathematics software to teach Number & Algebra (Strands 3 and 4) This module deals with complex numbers in depth, the number line and linear patterns. Participants discuss how they might apply what they have learned. Tutor facilitates discussion and collates notes to post to their group’s Upload’s Page. Discussion Exercise Introduction to the wiki Participants Request Access to await PBworks , learn how to upload their teaching resources to their group’s Uploads Folder.

The support wiki contains exemplars of ICT for mathematics and encourages teachers to work collaboratively and create and share resources. The wiki includes how-to videos on the use of digital projectors, visualisers and demonstrations of how ICT applications and equipment can be used in learning and teaching. ICT & Maths – Part 1 Module 2 Using ICT mathematics software to teach Number, Algebra & Functions (Strands 3, 4 and 5) This module deals with Trapezoidal Rule, square root of two and three, 3D shapes and provides an introduction to functions. Participants discuss how they might apply what they have learned. Tutor facilitates discussions and collates notes to post to your group’s Upload’s Page. Reflective Exercise Encourage Collaboration on the Wiki Participants upload their teaching resources to their group’s Uploads Folder to the wiki

ICT & Maths – Part 1 Module 3 Using ICT mathematics software to teach Functions (Strand 5) This module deals with many different types of functions and many areas of calculus. Participants discuss how they might apply what they have learned. Tutor collates discussion notes to post to their group’s Upload’s Page. Reflective Exercise Collaborate on the wiki Participants are encouraged to share teaching resources by uploading to their group’s Uploads Folder on the wiki.
