Today’s Objectives What is the plan for this week? What kinds of questions will we be asking in our surveys? How will we format those questions and who will we ask?

Plan for this week… Monday – Wednesday: Generate questions and refine surveys Thursday: No class - Upper School Cultural Day Friday: MAKE UP DAY

Reaction – p. 222 What is the first survey question you would ask students about your PAR topic and why? What is the first survey question you would ask teachers about your PAR topic and why? Copy and Answer

Write questions that are simple and to the point Write it like you would say it Use terms with clear meanings – especially when giving options… Terms like “always,” “most of the time,” “some of the time,” and “never” Try not to ask “leading” questions Do not reveal your opinion in your questions Writing Survey Questions Notes p. 223 Why is the lunch at Charlestown so horrible? What would you like to see improved with lunch at CHS?

Group Activity With your table, come up with at least 10 questions that you would ask a student about your PAR topic AND at least 10 questions that you would ask a teacher/staff member and write them on a half-sheet There will be some overlap!!!

When you finish… Politely call over Mr. Mahegan for his stamp of approval and explain the next step…
