Historic Buildings Swansea Castle This castle was built for Henry de Beaumont in In the 15th century, Swansea Castle had a military importance but in the 18th and 19th centuries, the castle had various uses as market, town hall, prison, etc. In the 20th century part of the interior of the castle was demolished.
