Ring Road Proposal PWD

Pune Ring Road To avoid traffic congestion in the city it is necessary to have a ring road for Pune. Decision taken in the meeting conducted by Hon’ble Chief Minister on 12/06/2007. Pune and Pimpri – Chinchwad Municipal Corporation to make necessary provision in their Development Plan. PWD to implement the project on BOT basis.

Ring road alignment Survey of following stretches of ring road undertaken. Part I – Theurphata NH9, Kesnand, Wagholi, Bhavdi,Tulapur, Alandi, Kelgaon, Chimbli, NH50. Part II – NH50, Chimbli Moi, Nighoje, Sangurde, Shelarwadi, Chandkhed, Pachne, Pimploli, Rihe, Ghotawde, Pirangutphat. Part III – Pirangut, Bhugaon, Chandni Chowk, Ambegaon, Katraj. Part IV – Ambegaon, Katraj, Mangdewadi, Wadachiwadi, Holkarwadi, Wadkinaka, Ramdara, Theurphata, NH9

Detail survey of Part I , II and IV completed. Presentation was made on 19.04.2008. As Part III and IV are very close to the city limits considering rapid growth of city Revised Alignment based on toposheets and google earth images for Part III & IV is considered.

Acquisition Proposed Ring road length 169.73km Land Acquisition cost Rs. 2374.00 crores Construction cost Rs. 6065.00 crores Total cost Rs. 8439.00 crores. Satelite townships in 38.38km stretch in balance width of 200m (expected area 8,25,93,760 sq.ft) – by giving FSI of 1.0 + additional 1.0 = 2.0 the expected revenue Rs. 9228.00 crores.

Approx. estimates Acquisition is proposed for 38.38km length – 300m width, 121.12km length – 100m width and 10.44km length – 45 to 60m. Acquisition cost - Rs. 2374 crores. Construction cost – Rs. 6065 crores. For the stretch of 38.38km road length acquisition is proposed for 300m width and the width balance after that required for road i.e. 200m will be developed with additional FSI of 1.0 over and above existing 1.0 FSI to make the project financially viable. State Govt. to approve the project on a PPP model without toll alongwith concession of extra FSI.
