Mrs Truck and the Good Boy Toy A Year 4 Drama Mrs Truck is an elderly lady who refuses to leave her flat. Lots of people are worried about her…

Who do you agree with? I think Mrs Truck should let a Doctor see her. Put her in an Old People’s Home. She’ll be OK. She wants to be left alone. Maybe Mrs Truck just needs to get out of her flat for some fresh air.

One day, Mrs Truck receives an unexpected parcel... and letter… Blue 4 used VCOP (see below) to describe the moment… Dear Mrs. Truck, You are the lucky new owner of a Good Boy Toy. Just follow the instructions, stand back and watch how Good Boy Toy obeys your every command. Good Boy Toy is truly remarkable. Your life will never be the same with our Good Boy Toy forever at your side. If you are not completely satisfied with this product simply return it to the factory for a full refund. Mr. T. Smith Factory Manager

VCOPVCOP V = Vocabulary (the WOW words!) Instead of ‘nice’... use... ‘beautiful, stunning, fantastic’. C = Connectives (joining words to make our sentences longer) e.g. ‘and, because, but, so, when, then’. O = Openers (we use these words to begin our sentences) e.g. ‘I..., My..., When..., First..., Suddenly...’ P = Punctuation ( the marks we use to make writing make sense). full stops C apital letters, commas ! exclamation marks ? question marks “ speech marks ”

So, Mrs T carefully opened the heavy, brown, parcel box as slowly as a snail. “What could be in here?”, she mumbled to herself. Curiously, she found herself reading a set of instructions that told her to lay down a piece of flat plastic, attach the foot pump to a normal nozzle and finally pump up the strange looking inflatable toy. Feeling nervous, she tested out her commands. The GBT did exactly what he was told. Mrs T realised that he could do all her chores for her. ‘like’ but because so finally,

Would this be the answer to Mrs Truck’s problems? Year 4 will be finding out in Story Makers!
