Change and Opportunity From April 2013 Merton Health and Wellbeing Board will be a statutory body. Public health responsibilities will transfer to Merton Council. Merton Clinical Commissioning Group will commission the majority of NHS services for the people of Merton. These changes provide new opportunities to tackle health inequalities.

Developed in Partnership The draft Merton Health and Wellbeing Strategy has been developed to take advantage of these opportunities - with agreed shared priorities. It takes a broad view of health to address the wider determinants of good health and wellbeing It can only be successfully delivered through integrated services and partnership working.

Working in Partnership The draft Strategy was developed by a partnership of Merton Clinical Commissioning Group, NHS SW London, the voluntary sector and the Council. All Council departments were involved reflecting the influence of wider services on health and wellbeing. Now we are seeking wider involvement and engagement through the consultation programme. We want your views.

Strategic Commissioning Health and Wellbeing Strategies will be statutory for all local authorities from April 2013 and will be important in informing the commissioning of health and social care services The Health and Wellbeing Strategy will be the focus for the partnership work of Merton Health and Wellbeing Board and determine its core areas of influence in promoting integration.

Delivering in Partnership Merton has strong track record of working in partnership with an award winning Compact. A detailed Delivery Plan of the strategy will link to Merton Community Plan and other strategic plans setting out the lead partners to deliver on Priority Themes. We want your ideas on how we can work better in partnership to achieve more integrated delivery of the Merton Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
