What role have wars typically played in race relations? What conditions did African Americans face when they moved to the North to escape persecution?

1. New jobs opened up for blacks since white workers were fighting overseas. 2. Blacks fighting in the war looked for more rights from the country they defended. 3. Roosevelt prohibited war companies from discriminating against African Americans.
