2 Corrective Action Through Remedial Training This policy applies to ALL certificate holders: pilot airmen maintenance technicians dispatchers ground instructors not exercising the privileges of their certificate in “air transportation” when the violation occurred. Why? These individuals are held to a much higher standard.

3 1) Can future compliance with the FAR be reasonably ensured? 2) Does the airman exhibit a constructive (cooperative) attitude and a willingness to comply with the FAR? 3) Does the airman exhibit an apparent lack of qualification? Corrective Action Through Remedial Training

4 4) Does the airman’s record of enforcement action indicate past violation history? 5) Were the actions deliberate, grossly negligent, or constitute a criminal offense?

5 Corrective Action Through Remedial Training The FSDO’s Safety Program Manager(s) review the violation then construct a training course contract that covers the appropriate FAR’s violated using: Ground Instruction Flight Instruction And / Or Simulator Training

6 Corrective Action Through Remedial Training Some parts or all segments may be required. Must be conducted by a qualified and verified training source, approved by the SPM. All training is at the candidates expense. FAA personnel do NOT conduct R/T.

7 Corrective Action Through Remedial Training Training contract must be completed in 21 days. All segments of Enforcement Investigation Report (EIR) must be completed within 120 days of offense. Failure to complete the training contract successfully within the prescribed 21 days will result in the airman’s termination from the R / T program with appropriate certificate action pursued.

8 Corrective Action Through Remedial Training Upon successful completion of the R / T contract and receipt of the original contract document by the SPM, the matter is officially closed. The Investigating Inspector (II) will be notified by the SPM who will generate a “letter of correction” sent to the airman that formally closes the matter.

9 A copy of the R / T administrative letter is forwarded Airman Records in Oklahoma City, OK for addition to the airman’s record. A second copy of the letter is sent to the airman. R/T shows up as a violation on airman record. The airman’s record is expunged after 2 years. Corrective Action Through Remedial Training
