A subject is a noun, which is a person, place, thing, or idea. Subjects tell us who or what the sentence is going to be about. Subjects are the most basic unit of sentence construction. Return to Main Menu

Adjectives are descriptive words. It modifies another person of thing in the sentence. The articles- a, an, and the- are adjectives. Return to Main Menu Click here to learn more about adjectives (It was a warm, sunny day.)

Dependent clauses cannot stand alone as a sentence. It is used to add additional information to the sentence. It IS NOT a complete thought. Return to Main Menu
