VISION STATEMENT Our vision is that healthcare decision-making throughout the world will be informed by high-quality, timely research evidence 1.RECOMMENDATION: The Vision Statement is left unchanged. 2.DECISION REQUIRED: Do you agree? YES/NO. If ‘No’, what changes would you make? Describe them here: 1

MISSION STATEMENT The Cochrane Collaboration is an international organisation that aims to help people make well-informed decisions about healthcare by preparing, maintaining and promoting the accessibility of systematic reviews of the effects of healthcare interventions 1.RECOMMENDATION: The Mission Statement is revised. The existing statement is tightly focused and well written, but it begs the question as to whether it is too tightly focused around ‘preparing, maintaining and promoting the accessibility of systematic reviews’ given the Collaboration’s ambitions and its potential wider role in promoting evidence-based healthcare decision-making. 2.DECISION REQUIRED: Do you agree? YES/NO. If ‘Yes’, what changes would you make? Feel free to be bold and radical – all ideas are welcome. Use the next slide to record your ideas. 2

CHANGES TO THE MISSION STATEMENT: 3

STRATEGIC GOAL 4 To ensure an efficient, transparent organisational structure and management system for The Cochrane Collaboration 1.RECOMMENDATION: Strategic Goal 4 is revised. The definition should include what kind of organization we want to be (well governed; inclusive; membership organization; voluntary; effective and efficiently managed, etc). 2.DECISION REQUIRED: Do you agree? YES/NO. If ‘Yes’, what changes would you make? Exact wording is unimportant, focus instead on what you want the goal to achieve. Do you see any tensions between this goal and the other Strategic Goals? Use the next slide to record your ideas. 4

CHANGES TO GOAL 4: 5

Do you think the five proposed Strategic Goals are sufficient, or should there be more, fewer, or different ones entirely? What other comments do you have about the goals? Record your ideas below. 6

STRATEGIC GOAL 4 To ensure an efficient, transparent organisational structure and management system for The Cochrane Collaboration 1.TASK: Develop some Strategic Priorities for Strategic Goal 4. These might specify the organizational characteristics/targets we are reaching for; and the character/culture of the Collaboration. Exact working is unimportant, focus instead on what you would like the priority to achieve. 2.YOUR SUGGESTED STRATEGIC PRIORITIES FOR GOAL 4: 7
