Grade 9 Assignments

First section will be PowerPoint; we have two activities, lasting ten days.

Activity #1 – Recreate a Show, “Are You Ready for a Puppy?”

Typically this assignments will take 5-6 days to complete! You will need to copy and paste all the text. You will need to add / change the backgrounds on all the slides. You will need to find clip art pictures or photos. You will need to add slide transitions. You will need to add custom animation for textboxes and objects. You will need to add music, sound to your slides.

Activity #2 – Create Your Own Original

Typically this assignments will take 4-5 days to complete! You will need to research your topic and save the website (URL). URL where you found the information that you are using. You will need to add / change the backgrounds on all the slides. You will need to find clip art pictures or photos. You will need to add slide transitions. You will need to add music, sound to your slides. You will need to add custom animation for textboxes and objects.

Career – Your Resume

Typically this assignments will take 1-2 days to complete! You will need to give / write down all personal achievements, any work experiences or volunteering and your mailing address. You will need to include at least three references: teachers are excellent references, just make sure you ask them before hand and that they will give a positive / favorable reference. Do NOT include any family!! You will need to use your student address / account: to access at

Career – Your School Cover Letter

Typically this assignments will take 1-2 days to complete! You will need to decide what career or field you would like to study in. (Trucker, Carpenter, Mechanic, Teacher, Doctor, Lawyer, Cashier, Call-Center worker) You will need to research school where the training is being giving. You need to explain that you would be a huge asset to the school, mutually beneficial arrangement.

Career – Job Cover Letter

Typically this assignments will take 1-2 days to complete! You will need to decide what career or field you would like to apply for a job in.(Tim Horton’s Cashier, Co-op, Foodland, Irving/Circle K, at other local business or restaurant) You will need to research the company and for some background information about the company. Quoting their Mission Statement or saying how nice, clean, how friendly the staff are; are all positive comments about the business. You will need to say that you are hard-working, trustworthy, etc… about yourself.

Career – Career Guide

Typically this assignments will take 1-2 days to complete! You will need to decide what career or field you would like to study in. (Trucker, Carpenter, Mechanic, Teacher, Doctor, Lawyer, Cashier, Call- Center worker) You will need to research when this career / field is being taught, if training is necessary. You need to know the Pros / Cons (advantages / disadvantages) of the job or career. You will need to know if there is a big demand of this job or not. You will need to answer the other questions in that the website has.

Photo Story & Story Board

Typically this assignments will take 1-2 days to complete! You will need to decide what topic you would like to present. You will need to research when this career / field is being taught, if training is necessary. You need to know the Pros / Cons (advantages / disadvantages) of the job or career. You will need to know if there is a big demand of this job or not. You will need to answer the other questions in that the website has.
