Weathering, Erosion and Deposition! By: Riley and Amber

Weathering Weathering is the breaking down of sediment. Weathering can happen with water (such as streams or rain), wind and ice (such as hail or an avalanche). Weathering broke down the concrete.

Our Example The wind broke down the canyon Then…….

Erosion Erosion carries away the sediment that was broken down by weathering. Erosion can happen by wind, water (such as streams and rain), animals, and humans. Erosion carried away the sediment and took it to another place.

Our Example The water picked up the sediment and carried it away. Then…….

Deposition Deposition is the process of sediment and other pieces of matter being deposited on land or in water. After years of things being deposited it can build up to form new land masses.

Our Example Later the sediment was deposited. Then……..

Our Example After many, many, many years the sediment built up to be a new land form. This cycle will repeat over and over again. So now when you see landforms you will know how some of them are made.
