6 Improving Service Quality and Service Delivery Advancing Scientific Research and Application as well as Development and Implementation of Technology Strengthening Capacity building Building and Enhancing Partnerships and Cooperation Strengthening Good Governance Improving Service Quality and Service Delivery 1. Deliver and improve access to high-quality weather, climate and water and related environment predictions, information and services in response to users’ needs and to enable their use in decision-making by all relevant societal sectors 2. Reduce risks and potential impacts of hazards caused by weather, climate and water and related environment elements Advancing Scientific Research and Application as well as Development and Implementation of Technology 3. Produce better weather, climate, and water and related environmental information, predictions and warnings to support in particular climate impact and adaptation strategies 4. Access, develop, implement and use integrated and interoperable Earth-and space-based systems for weather, climate and hydrological observations, as well as related environmental observations, based on world standards set by WMO 5. Contribute to and draw benefits from the global research capacity for weather, climate, water and environment science and technology development Strategic Thrusts Expected Results: Enhanced capabilities of Members/NMHSs to WMO Strategic Plan and WWRP Main Objectives of the WWRP To improve public safety and economic productivity by accelerating research on the prediction of high-impact weather. To demonstrate improvements in the prediction of weather, with emphasis on high-impact events through the exploitation of advances in scientific understanding.
