Audience Awareness for Idea Development

Audience  Anyone who reads your writing  You almost always have at least a general idea of who your audience  The audience drives your writing.  KNOW who your audience is and what they need/want to hear  Make sure your writing “MEETS” their needs.

Like a Toyota Marketing Team… Target Your Audience  Who are you writing to?  What would they need?  What would they want?  Good persuasive writing MEETS* the needs of your audience!

Practice Idea Development Pretend to agree with this statement: School start time should be changed to 9:30 AM. Write ONE REASON you believe this to be true on your note card.
