Taboo A thinking game

Step 1 You will be placed in a group of four people Each group is in competition with the other groups. Work together as a group. Do not let the other groups hear what you say or see what you write.

Step 2 Your teacher will provide you with a key word card and five sheets of paper. Write one key word on each of the strips of paper. Rainforest Key word

Step 3 In your group you must think of at least 10 taboo words to write under the key words. The object of the game is to stop the other team guessing the key words. Work together as a team, to complete one key word sheet at a time. Key word

Step 4 The sheets are completed. The other teams must now guess the key word on each sheet. They can not use any of the taboo words. The harder you think the easier the win!

Rules When trying to guess the Key word you must not use rhyming words or phrases like “it sounds like”. The judge has the final say. You must not use any taboo words or the key words.

Step 5 - Playing One member of your team will now act as judge. The judge carefully takes the slips to another team. One member of the other team will see the slips (key words and taboo words). The describer then tries to describe the key words to the members of the group. The judge keeps score. Group B get a point if they guess correctly. The judge and group A get a point if they are unable to guess the key word. Guessing Pupils group B Describer Group B
