MY MAMMAL PRESENTATION GIANA PARDEE PANDA BEAR 9 TH PERIOD.

CLASIFICATION: KINGDOM: ANIMALIA PHYLUM: CHORDATA CLASS: MAMMALIA ORDER: CARNIVORA FAMILY: URSIDAE GENUS: AILUROPODA SPEICES: AMELANOLEUCA

DIMENSISONS LENGTH: FROM 120 TO 190 CENTIMETERS. HEIGHT: FULLLY GROWN MAY REACH ABOUT INCHES WEIGHT: THEY MAY WEIGH OVER 200 POUNDS (90KG)

HABITAT: PANDA BEARS PREFER TO LIVE IN THE COLD, DAMP CONIFEROUS FORESTS BETWEEN 4000 AND 11,000 FT. IN ELEVATION. ENVIRONMENT: THEY LIVE IN THE WILD, PLACES WHERE BAMBOO GROWS,(1600 SPESCIMANS, PLUS 10% IN ZOOS)

DIET MEAT: EVEN THE GIANT PANDA BEAR WILL EAT A LITTLE BIT OF MEAT BUT THEIR MAIN DIET IS BAMBOO. PLANTS: THEY EAT MANLY LEAVES, STENS, AND SOME BAMBOO SPECIES, ADULTS CAN EAT ABOUT 10 TO 12 HOURS A DAY.

FAMILY LIFE NUMBER BORN: THEY USUALLY HAVE ABOUT 1-3 CUBS GESTATION: THE AVERAGE PANDA BEARS GESTATION IS ABOUT 135 DAYS AND THE LATEST GESTATION IS ABOUT 160 DAYS. WHEN BORN: THEY USUALLY GIVE BIRTH IN THE WINTER.

SOCIAL BEHAVIOR & SHELTER SOCIAL BEHAVIOR: THEY AVOID DIRECT CONTACT WITH OTHERS OF THEIR OWN KIND. SHELTER: THEY LIVE IN THE WILD, PANDAS USE HOLLOWED OUT TREES, CAVES, OR EVEN THE THICKEST OF BAMBOO.

CHARACTERISTICS TEMPERAMENT: THEY ARNT VERY SHY BUT THEY LIKE TO LIVE ALONE WHERE THEY FEEL UNDISTURBED BY OTHERS. UNIQUE BEHAVIOR: PANDAS ARE LONERS, ALTHOUGH THEY APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN CARNIVOROUS AT SOME POINT IN THEIR EVOLUTION.

DEFENCE & LIFE-SPAN DEFENCE: THEY SIGNIFY AGGRESSION BY LOWERING THEIR HEADS AND STARING AT THEIR OPPONENTS. AT A CLOSE RANGE, AGGRESTION IS SIGNALED BY A SWIPE WITH A PAW, OR BY LOW-PITCH GROWLE OR BARK. LIFE-SPAIN: IT IS KNOW THAT THEY CAN LIVE ANYWHERE FROM YEARS IN CAPTIVE.

HISTORY THE GIANT PANDA IS ALSO KNOW AS THE PANDA BEAR, BAMBOO BEAR, OR IN CHINESE, THE “LARGE BEAR CAT”. IN THE SECOND CENTERY AD THE GIANT PANDA WAS A RARE SEMI-SIVINE ANIMAL INSIDE CHINA. SCIENTIST DEBATED FOR MORE THEN A CENTERY WHETHER THE GIANT PANDA BELONGS TO THE BEAR FAMILY OF THEIR OWN.
