WHO IS THE MAN, JESUS?

When Jesus came to earth, He was certainly not the Messiah that every one expected.

This unlearned carpenter began to teach like a rabbi in the synagogue!

He was living in a world obsessed with status and he had none. Yet he acted as though he had absolute authority.

He had to be a liar, a lunatic or the Lord.

Matthew 16:13-19

When Peter called Jesus, Messiah, he was saying that Jesus was 100% God.

He also spoke of the work that Jesus would do as the perfect Savior of the whole world.

People are still shaping Jesus into the Messiah they want Him to be.

We need to be careful to let Jesus be Jesus.

Our world teaches the “Make Everything Easy Jesus.”

Our world teaches the “Personal Assistant Jesus.”

Our world teaches the “Positive only Jesus.”

Our world teaches the “Great Rabbi Jesus.”

Our world teaches the “Southern Jesus.”

Matt. 16:16-19

The victory or defeat of our church is if we will follow the real Jesus or a Jesus that we make up.

Jesus asks each of us today, “Who am I to YOU?”
